E3.panel for Electrical Panel and Switch Cabinet Design

E3.panel allows engineers to layout components inside electrical panel enclosures in both 3D and 2D. Intelligent automatic snapping points allow parts to be easily placed in their correct location. Organize Complex Designs

Intelligent automatic snapping points support engineers in placing components easily placed in their correct location. Keep-out and height restrictions prevent clashes.

The block functionality enables the representation of dynamic equipment: components, rack equipment, black boxes, PCBs, systems, and sub-systems. Design integrity is automatically maintained by connector pins that are dynamically added to the blocks and signal information is displayed alongside.

Wires can be automatically routed through in the panel, taking into account the shortest route as well as segregation requirements and duct fill capacity. The length of each wire is calculated and with dedicated links to wire preparation machines wires can be cut, stripped, crimped, and marked automatically.

Different views of a project allow alternate documentation of devices such as single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and cable plans. Changes to any of the views, immediately synchronize all other views, ensuring documentation consistency.

The device tree represents the online bill of materials - permanently up to date and can be output in various formats (Excel, ASCII, XML), on graphic sheets, or via an integrated API.

E3.series offers predefined reports and documents such as tables of contents, parts lists, connection lists, cable lists, and terminal diagrams.

Data and Configuration Management

DS-E3 data and process management environment complements the E3.series electrical engineering environment. It is closely integrated with the toolsets and natively manages E3.series engineering project data and libraries as well as the E3.series engineering workflow process. As the DS-E3 functionality is directly embedded into the user interface of E3.series, engineers do not need to leave their CAD application for component search or change and configuration management.

BOMs, reports and exports – always up to date

The device tree represents the online bill of materials while working. It is permanently up to date and can be output in various formats (Excel, ASCII, XML or on graphic sheets at any time. E3.series offers predefined reports and documents such as tables of contents, parts lists, connection lists, cable lists and terminal diagrams. Data can also be exported from E3.series in any format via an integrated programming interface (API). The API is based on Microsoft’s COM technology (COM interface).
